The Mentii - The Eyes of Horus

The Mentii, or the Eyes of Horus, were most often found worn together by the most affluent of spiritual leaders in ancient Egypt as a powerful form of protection.

The left eye represents the Moon, as the eye that Horus (Heru in the Kemetic language) sacrificed to win the battle against his uncle Set, god of chaos.  The left eye was restored by Thoth (Tehuti in the Kemetic language) after the battle was won.

The right eye represents the Sun, the victorious nature of Horus as god of the Earthly Sun and child of Isis and Osiris.

Together the eyes are representative of Victory & Absolute Spiritual Protection.
