TALISMAN OF PROTECTION & SACRED DIRECTION

Handcrafted by Tuareg silversmiths, the Timia Cross is a powerful symbol of identity, protection, and guidance, deeply rooted in the nomadic traditions of the Tuareg people of the Sahara. Passed down through generations, Tuareg crosses are said to represent the four cardinal directions, serving as celestial compasses for those who traverse both the physical and spiritual landscapes of life.

The Timia Cross, named after the oasis town of Timia in northern Niger, is distinguished by its intricate etchings, evoking the movement of wind and water--forces of nature that shape the desert and guide the traveler. Traditionally, Tuareg fathers gift these symbols to their sons with the words:

"I give you the four corners of the world because one cannot know where one will die."
