Do you find yourself searching for a more natural approach for wellness concerns or a little worried about herb/drug interactions?  Would you like to start on a new path to feeling better through herbal + holistic routines?  We can help.  Our herbal consultations, led by founder Alexis, focus on the whole picture to develop a specially tailored herbal plan just for you.  Consultations are available in Marfa, TX where we come to you, or via video call.

We've Got Your Back

Alexis Smith, herbalist, is available for wellness consultations.  These one to two hour consultations typically end in lifestyle, dietary, herbal + physical recommendations.  These recommendations are only a single part of your wellness plan.  In the United States, herbalists are not allowed to treat/diagnose/cure any illness or disease.  We may only provide guidance within the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle.  Always seek out your medical or naturopathic doctor for serious health conditions.  Alexis is dedicated to providing you with quality care, and is more than happy to work with your physician.

How to Schedule an Appointment

Step 1: Read the Consent and Disclosures Form. This form simply explains what Alexis does and doesn't do, and what it means to work with an herbalist.

Step 2: Schedule an Appointment with Alexis.  When you schedule, remember to reserve at least three days in advance of the appointment to have you intake form turned in.  This intake form is an important part of preparation so that we can be fully ready to help.  You can schedule an appointment by emailing wellness@ocotillobotanica.com or by visiting our SCHEDULE page.  When an appointment is made, Alexis will arrange a meeting place (typically local consultations are housecalls, although we have also met at local coffee shops).  We will begin taking consultations in our new Apothecary space in January 2020!  For virtual consultations, we can arrange a video call via whatever conference program works best for you (i.e. Skype).

Step 3: Fill out and Return a Client Intake Form.  This form must be received at least 3 business days in advance of your appointment.  You can download  a Physical Intake Form .pdf to print and fill out by hand (you may also obtain a copy directly from us if local and unable to print), or email wellness@ocotilobotanica.com for a digital copy.

Payment Methods

Payments for all consultations must be made upon the initial appointment.

We accept all forms of payment for consultations including cash, check, card, venmo + paypal.


Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of scheduled appointments.  Please contact Alexis via email as soon as possible if you know you will be unable to make your appointment date or time or if you need to reschedule.  Cancellations made in less than 24 hours may be subject to an invoice for half of suggested donation rate.  "No Shows" will be charged the full rate.

Meet + Greet: $25 for (up-to) 15 min phone or video call for general questions.  To ensure your safety and quality care we will not be able to provide health advice at this time.  This is a chance to learn how we approach client care to see if it is a good fit for you.

Email Quick Questions: $15 per email (prior clients only)

Email questions from prior clients should be simple.  To ensure the best quality care, follow-up appointments are encouraged for complicated questions or concerns.
